Oran Pre-Cast supplied 200mm and 250mm hollowcore as a fast build flooring solution to the plant and gym zones of the project. The precast prestressed floor minimised the amount of on-site works and provided an efficient design solution to provide the required clear spans of almost 9m.

Also provided were precast stair flights and landings for all of the staircores on the project. This also significantly reduced the on-site works and provided immediate safe access between levels.

Our precast portal frame solution is ideally suited to General Purpose and Sports Halls. Long clear spans can easily be achieved with the prestressed T4 roof beams. Self-compacting concrete, used in conjunction with our adjustable steel moulds, ensures excellent surface finish. This allows for the columns to be left exposed / flush with the blockwork, if required. The 50N concrete provides excellent inherent fire and durability characteristics.

For this project we provided:

  • 18no. 10.5m high columns

  • T4 prestressed roof beams

  • A clear internal space of over 21m x 36m

  • Precast gutters and

  • Preinstalled sockets for roof purlins

Oran Pre-Cast provided the structural support frame for one of the stands at the headquarters of the Galway GAA. A set of 15 raking beams were designed and installed to support the inclined floor slab. The slab was constructed using our 250mm deep hollowcore product, with a 75mm structural screed. The finished stepped profile was formed on site with an in-situ topping.
