A wide range of precast products were provided for the structure. Twinwall was used for rising walls in the foundation. Most of the vertical elements within the structure were catered for in twinwall. A number of architectural curved panels were provided using solid wall panels. Custom made steel moulds were fabricated in our steel workshop to provide a high quality surface finish.

Key design features included:

  • Curved solid wall panels

  • Exposed concrete finish

  • 8m high twinwall panels

  • Deep beam wall elements

Oran Pre-Cast provided a total precast solution for this co-located education facility in Monaghan town.

The project consisted of a number of separate precast structures for the primary, post-primary and adult education facilities. The unorthodox wall elevations highlighted the flexibility of the precast products provided by Oran Pre-Cast in meeting complex architectural requirements. The required features were provided using our twinwall product combined with a number of precast transfer beams.

Key design features included:

  • Beams cast with conduit for services,

  • Significant cantilevered feature atrium staircase,

  • Irregular floor plans and wall elevation geometry.

In addition to the excellent surface finish, the exposed twinwall system provided inherent thermal mass, acoustic and fire resistance properties to the dividing walls.

This was one of the first flat slab systems where Oran Pre-cast designed and provided all of the concrete elements required. The precast system offered a 30% programme reduction combined with 50% less on site labour.

Key design features included:

  • Curved precast elements to the circular tower feature

  • A suspended transfer column arrangement

  • 275mm high flat slab system

  • An exposed concrete finish

  • Construction tolerance of just 5mm

Oran Precast provided 180 columns, 3 stair and lift cores along with over 3000m2 of lattice flooring for the project.

The precise tolerances associated with offsite factory production allowed for the smooth installation of the circular beam and stair members for the tower section. Electrical 1st fix items were all incorporated within the precast elements, allowing for an exposed concrete finish on both floor soffits and walls.

The project consisted of 3 distinct wings built around a large central atrium hall. Oran Pre-Cast's versatile design team and large product range allowed for a flexible and cost effective precast concrete solution.

Lattice flooring was used to provide a 4 hour fire resistance roof to the electrical plant room. The exposed twinwall panels were advantageous both in terms of erection speed and flexibility in the provision of opes. The twinwall and precast flight system used in the staircores provided an immediate safe working pathway between levels.

Key design features included:

  • Double height exposed circular columns,

  • 1st fix electrical pre-installed in wall panels,

  • 300mm & 400mm thick retaining wall,

In addition to the excellent surface finish, the exposed twinwall system provided inherent thermal mass, acoustic and fire resistance properties to the dividing walls.

Oran Pre-Cast worked closely with the main contractor to develop a viable concrete frame for this bespoke school project.

A wide range of products were used in providing a total precast solution to this architecturally striking building. The overall building consisted of 3 wings, separated by movement joints. Approximately 150m of the perimeter wall acted as a retaining wall at lower ground level.

Large expanses of wall elevations, with irregular ope patterns, lead to multi-storey columns of up to 14m in height, and a large number of bespoke twinwall panels. The automated production facility, with its CNC plotting station, was ideally suited to the manufacture of these panels.

Key design features included:

  • 11.5m high exposed twinwall panels to sports hall,

  • 14.5m transfer beams,

  • Significant lattice floor transfer slab,

  • Bespoke beam and wall panels.

  • Exposed concrete façade panels

Differences in the architectural layout between levels resulted in a number of significant transfer structures, and cantilevering floor slabs. Finite element analysis software was used in analysing these elements.
