Oran Pre-Cast worked closely with the main contractor to develop a viable concrete frame for this bespoke school project.

A wide range of products were used in providing a total precast solution to this architecturally striking building. The overall building consisted of 3 wings, separated by movement joints. Approximately 150m of the perimeter wall acted as a retaining wall at lower ground level.
Large expanses of wall elevations, with irregular ope patterns, lead to multi-storey columns of up to 14m in height, and a large number of bespoke twinwall panels. The automated production facility, with its CNC plotting station, was ideally suited to the manufacture of these panels.
Key design features included:
11.5m high exposed twinwall panels to sports hall,
14.5m transfer beams,
Significant lattice floor transfer slab,
Bespoke beam and wall panels.
Exposed concrete façade panels
Differences in the architectural layout between levels resulted in a number of significant transfer structures, and cantilevering floor slabs. Finite element analysis software was used in analysing these elements.
