The final precast structural elements have been fitted to the Life Course Science Building in NUI, Galway. It is located on the North Campus, adjacent to the Science Research Building also by Oran Pre-Cast. The project continues Oran Pre-Cast's record of providing flexible state of the art structural solutions to Ireland’s third level institutes.
The main building structure utilised lattice floor and precast columns to provide a flat slab configuration. The building has 2 distinct wings designed around a large central atrium, interconnected using precast beams of over 11m in span. 500mm hollowcore and a large transfer beam provide a clear span of over 18metres to the main lecture theatre.
