Oran Pre-Cast’s structural design team have begun to design and detail a precast concrete solution for this clinical research facility on the grounds of University Hospital Galway. The project is a joint undertaking between NUI Galway and the Health Services Executive.
BAM Building Ltd. were awarded the contract to construct the €20m project in late 2013, and are currently undertaking preparatory site works. The building is a 4 storey flat slab structure with a floor area of over 5,000m2. It will house the Clinical and Translational Research Facilities.
The design is utilising a number of Oran Pre-Cast’s specialist product range, including twinwall, lattice floor, stairs, beams and columns to provide a total pre-cast solution. A number of significant transfer structures are being provided to meet the required architectural specification.
