Oran Precast continues to be heavily involved in the ambitious Research Project ‘Built2Spec’, which is funded under the EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme and involves a team of Private companies, University bodies and Institutes from across Europe.

The project aims to develop new Quality Assurance tools in the area of Construction so that Retrofit and New Build projects in the near future can be managed and verified with a view toward meeting ambitious EU energy efficiency targets. These tools will use new technological advances in the area of 3D & Imagery, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Smart Building components, Energy Efficiency testing, Indoor Air Quality testing, Airtightness, Thermal and Acoustic testing.

In July 2015, a Built2Spec Project Meeting took place in Galway, hosted by the NUIG research team. A site visit to Oran Precast’s Office and manufacturing facility was one of the highlights of this meeting. Further information is available on the project website www.built2spec-project.eu.
